Monday – Song of Solomon, Chapter 4
1.Everything about the Shulammite woman was beautiful and free from flaws. Flaw can also refer to moral blemishes, so she was physically and morally pure. (Vs. 1-7) Married couples, learn the art of verbal lovemaking, speaking words of love that touch the soul. When we receive Jesus as Lord and Savior, confess our sins, and repent of them, this is the way He sees us.
2.Sister in verse 9 means "beloved." Solomon's bride has captured his heart. Husbands and wives, think back to the day you met and your dating days. When you apply this to Jesus, think of the day you received Him, and the powerful love that penetrated your heart!
3.Man's deepest need is to experience an authentic love in a dependable relationship. "The garden enclosed" is a private garden for royal use into which she invites the Bridegroom to enter. Together, as friends and lovers they share a meal.(Vs. 9 - 5:1) Let us treasure our relationship with Jesus, who is Dependable and loves us unconditionally. Let us also treasure our relationship with our spouse, and/or, with those close to us. Let us be found dependable in our relationships!
Tuesday - Song of Solomon , Chapter 5
1.This most likely describes a troubled dream where she sees her lover leaving. (Vs. 2-7) These verses show that the pleasures of marriage do not guarantee there will be no disappointments. There will also be times even in our relationship with Jesus where we will feel alone, or that He is so far away. God allows this so that we will seek Him even more so!
2.Everything about the Bridegroom is precious and desirable. (Vs. 16)
Wednesday - Song of Solomon, Chapter 6
1.The Shulammite could not be compared to any other woman. She is one of a kind, a class by herself. (Vs. 8) To have a successful marriage, see your spouse as above and beyond all others. Jesus first, then your spouse. Be free with your words of praise and compliments. Let your spouse know that he or she is precious to you. (Vs. 4-9) Plan a date with your spouse today! Also take time today to tell the Lord how precious He is to you!
Thursday - Song of Solomon, Chapter 7
1.Set aside special times with Jesus, your Bridegroom, to renew and refresh your relationship, and then with your spouse to refresh and renew the romance in your marriage. (Vs. 10-13)
Friday - Song of Solomon, Chapter 8
1.Sexual involvement before marriage, weakens a couples ability to make sexual adjustments. (Vs. 4)
2.Parents, get involved in your children's lives and in helping to build their sexual morality. Encourage sexual purity and virginity. Help them to build their defenses against temptation. (Vs. 8,9)
3.Value virginity very highly! Do not underestimate the gift of being able to present yourself to your spouse body and soul, wholly pure. (Vs. 10-12)
Saturday - 1 Chronicles, Chapter 1
1.The first nine Chapters are an important foundation for the story of David's reign, including his ancestry. Verses 1-28 give a list of descendants from Adam to Abraham and his sons Isaac and Ishmael. Vs. 1-4 taken from Genesis 5:1-32 show that the Chronicler believed Genesis's first chapters were reliable history.
2.We may ask, why do we have to know all these names? This important genealogy points towards David, and on to Jesus Himself. These are historic facts.
3.Let us think back as far as we can to the names of our ancestors, and where they came from. If accurate records were not kept, it can be difficult to find all the information we would like. However, there are many sources such as libraries and town hall records that can help with that.
