Weekly Daily Devotional

Week of March 25, 2018

Monday – Ezra, Chapter 9

1.Sin so disturbed Ezra that he grieved fiercely, and humbled himself before the  Lord.  (Vs. 1-5) Let us never become so hardened by sin that it does not disturb  us. We see sin all around us. Have we become so numb to it that we simply  accept it as part of life?

2.Leaders, choose to cry out and intercede for God's people, instead of  becoming upset about them. Lead in the confession of sin as a model for your  people. (Vs. 5-15)

Tuesday - Ezra, Chapter 10

1.Sin is serious, deal with it thoroughly. Take action, make things right that the  sin brought about, and do not continue in it. (Vs. 1-17) It is never too late to ask  God for forgiveness! (See 1 John 1:9) It is never too late to put a stop to sin and  take steps to make things right. God can turn it around in a day for someone with  a repentant heart.

2.The listing of names shows the extent of Israel's sin and the necessity of  obedience to the call to repent. (Vs. 18-44)

Wednesday - Nehemiah, Chapter 1

1.Nehemiah cries over the sin in Israel. His prayers in confessing sin includes  himself in them. (Vs. 4-11) When we pray and confess of general sin of God's  people in our land, it is for us to confess too.

2.Strong intercession calls for awareness of the Holiness and Sovereignty of  God who acts according to His promises. (Vs. 8,9) We depend upon God's  mercy.

3.Let us always remember, success and favor with men comes from the Lord.  (Vs. 11) When praying for success, ask the Lord to give you favor.

Thursday, Nehemiah, Chapter 2

1.In any situation, let us always pray that our responses in a demanding  situation will be from the Lord, with His wisdom. (Vs. 4-6)

2.Let us always remember to express gratitude to God for success and favor.  (Vs.8)

3.Let us not be unaware that our adversary, the devil, will not be happy when  favor is shown to God's people, and he will use humans to cause hostility. (Vs.  10) Always pray for God's protection and discernment, to quench the darts of the  enemy.

4.Wisdom involves searching out a matter before making decisions. Hold off  telling others until you are sure you have heard from the Lord. (Vs. 12-16)

Friday, Nehemiah, Chapter 3

1.Leaders, take note of who will not serve because of their title or position, and  speak to them about this. All are called to serve!  Today, let us see where we  can serve! (Vs. 5)

2.Even daughters repaired the wall which was unusual at this time. (Vs. 12)

Saturday - Nehemiah, Chapter 4

1.When others oppose or insult those of us who are pursuing God's will, ignore  them and trust in God's justice and faithfulness. (Vs. 1-6) Refuse to give in to  peer pressure!

2.In order for the work to succeed, the people had to combine the right attitude  with the right action. (Vs. 6) They had a mind to work.

3.When others were against the rebuilding and planning to attack, the people  continued the work, prayed, and the prayers to God took effect. (Vs. 7-9) When  working for a cause that is God ordained, press in, do not give up, and pray.

4.All spiritual ministry will involve a battle. Be prepared for spiritual warfare and  quick to give aid to those under attack. (Vs. 17-23)
