Monday - 2 Chronicles, Chapter 9
1. What did the Queen of Sheba say and do when she saw all that Solomon had and did, and what did he do in return? (Vs. 5-12)
2. What did all the kings of the earth want from Solomon? (Vs. 23) His wisdom was worth more than all the gold in the world. Let us always seek God's wisdom above all!
3. In 1st. Kings 11: 1-40 we read how before his death, Solomon's heart turned away from the Lord, which opened the way for his enemies. Let us pray today that God always finds us faithful!
Tuesday - 2 Chronicles , Chapter 10
1. This chapter marks the point where the nation of Israel was torn apart into two kingdoms. The northern kingdom was called Israel. The southern kingdom, which the author and people of Judah regarded only the descendants of David as the true kings of Israel, was called Judah. Judah remained the center of the worship of the Lord God, and its kings were David's descendants and thus part of the covenant promise. (Vs. 15-19) Let us always remember to pray for the Peace of Jerusalem.
Wednesday - 2 Chronicles, Chapter 11
1. It was God who caused the division in Israel to keep Judah loyal to Him and to separate Judah from the growing spiritual corruption in the other tribes. (Vs. 4) Sometimes God has to cause division in order to preserve and protect His revealed truth, His righteous standards, and the godly people who want to remain faithful to Him.
2. All who want to remain loyal to God and His Word sometimes have to separate themselves from those who are not following Him. Loyalty to God sometimes even means leaving a church that is not proclaiming the Truth of the Gospel. (Vs. 16) In order to know the Truth, Stay in the Word!
Thursday, 2 Chronicles, Chapter 12
1. Vs.1-5 emphasizes how God's punishment follows disobedience. God stopped protecting the king from his enemies. (Vs. 5) Willful sin is disobedience, and we cannot expect God to bless us while dishonoring Him. However there is hope.
2. King Rehoboam humbled himself and the Lord's anger turned from him. (Vs. 12) God is waiting to hear "I'm sorry Lord." When we really mean it and we ask for forgiveness, and we turn from our wicked ways, He is Faithful to forgive us and restore us to His grace and favor. (See 1 John 1:9)
3. In order to persevere in our faith, we must resolve to seek God and resist evil. Let us always be in prayer for His help in resisting temptations and obeying His Word. Let us follow the Holy Spirit's leading in our life until God takes us home with Him. (Vs. 14)
Friday - 2 Chronicles, Chapter 13
1. "A Covenant of salt was included in many sacrifices. (Lev. 2:13; Ezek. 43:24) Salt, a valuable preservative suggested that the promise would be preserved, it would be everlasting. (Vs. 5) This is a powerful verse, underline it!"
2. The children of Judah prevailed, because they relied on the Lord God of their fathers. (Vs. 18) When coming across spiritual opposition, let us always rely on God's wisdom, strength, and abilities. This is the quickest way to victory!
Saturday - 2 Chronicles, Chapter 14
1. This verse is a lesson for leaders as well as all. Teach your people (church, family, friends, all those you meet) to seek the Lord, put His Word into practice, and trust that God will prosper them if they do. (Vs. 4)
2. When there is spiritual opposition or persecution, let us always rely upon the Lord for His wisdom and strength. When we do, He will come through for us! (Vs. 11)
